Tad Hirsch’s research focuses on interaction design in urban environments with a strong emphasis on advocacy and civic engagement, and often involves collaboration with NGO’s and community based organizations. His work is strongly influenced by public and critical art practice, and has engaged with issues such as human rights, environmental justice and community empowerment.

Motivation through Communication: an Artefact Workshop
Learn the power of behavioral economics in creating meaning and engagement and encouraging positive change
The workshop outlines how behavioral economic principles can be applied to facilitate improved communication and provide deeper meaning through compelling content and design. After a brief, example-rich introduction to the underlying behavioral economics principles, participants will be split into groups and tasked with applying these principles to solve specific and relevant design challenge. The session will conclude with each group presenting its solution for peer feedback and Q&A.
