Why AIGA collects member and customer information
When you become a member of AIGA or get involved in AIGA activities on this website or elsewhere, AIGA responds to your interest by offering to keep you informed about AIGA events and programs. While print AIGA communications are a benefit of membership, email announcements are available to members and nonmembers.
You have the choice of whether or not to give us your information or receive AIGA email announcements. If you choose to subscribe to these announcements, you have our commitment that they will be topical, timely and relevant to your professional and cultural interests, and sent no more than 18 times a year. Furthermore, AIGA will never sell or rent your information to another party, or use it in any way other than that described in this statement. AIGA will prosecute any parties who illegally attempt to mine member data from the site.
AIGA members
If you are a member and you have supplied your email address, you will automatically receive AIGA email announcements, along with AIGA print communications and up to two mailings a year from each of AIGA's national sponsors, of whom there are up to six. If you would prefer not to receive the email announcements, you can always opt out of receiving them.
Nonmembers
If you are a nonmember, you can use most of the features of the site without supplying any personal information to AIGA. If you would like to stay informed about AIGA programs and activities, you can provide your name and email address and opt in to receiving AIGA email announcements. If at any time you wish to stop receiving these emails, you can contact AIGA to opt out.
Website features requiring the submission of personal information
Submission of personal information to the AIGA website is entirely voluntary, except in the case of members, for whom current names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses must be on file. Most areas of the website may be used without supplying any personally identifiable information.
The following site features do require users to supply personal information:
Membership
When you join AIGA, we request your name, address, phone and fax numbers, email address, job title, school or company name, chapter affiliation, and professional affiliation. The information you have supplied is used to get an accurate picture of our membership as a whole and to provide you with the full benefits of membership, including publications, mailings and discounted registration for AIGA events. After joining, you can update any of your information on the web at any time.
Site status updates
If you wish to receive information about specific new features or services when they are added, we ask for contact information including your name and e-mail address.
Surveys
From time to time we request information from users of the site via surveys. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and email address), demographic information (such as zip code and age level), and professional information (such as skills, areas of expertise, and subjects of interest). This information will not be released under any circumstances in a manner that will identify the respondent. Personally identifiable information is requested only for internal purposes (for example, to avoid asking for the same information more than once). Survey information will be used for monitoring or improving the use of and satisfaction with this site.
Publication orders
If you wish to order publications from AIGA, you must provide contact information including your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and financial information including your credit card number and expiration date. This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, your contact information is used to get in touch with you.
AIGA Design Jobs
Design Jobs is AIGA's online job search and recruitment center for the design community.
Job seekers: If you wish to advertise your skills and availability to employers using Design Jobs, you are asked to provide contact information such as your name and email, and professional information such as your skills, areas of practice, job seeking status, and a description of your professional qualifications. To preserve your privacy, your last name and contact information are not displayed to other Design Jobs users, but are collected for purposes of authentication and so that AIGA may contact you in the event that your Design Jobs account is being misused. Your professional information is available to other Design Jobs users, so that potential employers may assess your qualifications for work.
Employers: If you wish to post available jobs on Design Jobs, we ask for information about the job you are offering, such as the job title, type of position, your company's city and state, required skills and areas of practice, and a job description. This information is available to other Design Jobs users, so that potential employees may assess the opportunity. We also request company contact information such as your contact name, company name, address, and email. To protect your privacy, we give you the choice of revealing your contact information to other users, or posting your job anonymously. In either case, your contact information is collected for purposes of authentication and so that AIGA may contact you in the event that your Design Jobs account is being misused.
Registration for AIGA activities
If you wish to register for an AIGA conference or other event, we ask for contact information such as your name, school or company name, job title, telephone number, and email address, and financial information including your credit card number and expiration date. Contact information is used to send you important messages regarding the activity or event for which you registered. Financial information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders.

If you wish to receive timely information about select AIGA programs and events, you may subscribe to AIGA email announcements. Announcement subjects include upcoming conferences, exhibitions, publications and new interactive services. Subscribers receive up to 18 email messages per year.
Log files

Use of cookies

The AIGA website uses cookies for purposes of session state management—that is, to give users a persistent identity in the database while they submit forms and go through any multi-step processes.
