Into the Music / Jakob Trollbäck
In this workshop Jakob Trollbäck, former DJ and Creative Director of Trollbäck + Company, will help you explore how music can serve as inspiration for your visual communication. Design uses curves, angles, color and scale to create tension, drama, rhythm and harmony—in much the same way that music uses pitch, melody, tempo and key. This workshop will help you break through the limitations of "drawing" inspiration solely from other designers.
Jakob Trollbäck
A self-taught designer from Sweden, Jakob Trollbäck is President and Creative Director of Trollbäck + Company. Trollbäck, once a professional DJ, formed the company to transfer his musical ideas to the visual world. The award-winning company, now in its seventh year, creates film titles, commercials, publication design, environmental design, music videos and short films for clients including CBS, AMC, HBO, TCM, TNT, Sundance Channel, HBO Films, Fox Searchlight, Miramax, Nike, Volvo, Fidelity, and Jaguar. Most recently, Trollbäck + Company has been chosen to participate in the upcoming 2006-2007 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Triennial.
